Rockstroh Drums entwickelt neues Bass Drum System
Pünktlich zur Frankfurter Musikmesse 2011 präsentiert die junge innovative Custom Drum Manufaktur Rockstroh Drums aus Leipzig ein neuartiges Bass Drum System.
Die Bass Drums üblicher Bauart bieten bis heute keine flexible Möglichkeit den Klang zu verändern. Um Klänge modellieren zu können muss bisher einseitig oder beidseitig die Spannung der Schlagfelle verändert werden. Dazu ist es notwendig jeweils bis zu zwanzig Einzelschrauben zu justieren und aufeinander abzustimmen, was einen hohen Zeitaufwand bedeutet. Darüber hinaus gibt es bisher keine flexible Möglichkeit ins Innere der Trommel zu gelangen z.B. im Falle der Positionierung eines Mikrofons.
Mit der Neuentwicklung einer ZoomBassDrum wird eine variable ausziehbare und einfache auseinanderbaubare Bass Drum präsentiert, welche die starre Klangerzeugung ablöst, eine variable Klangerzeugung ermöglicht und einen einfachen Zugang zum Kesselinneren schafft.
In Zusammenarbeit mit den Designern des Studio Hartensteiner und den Organisatoren der Designers Open in Leipzig, Jan Hartmann und Andreas Neubert, wurde ein variables Zoomsystem für jegliche Kesselgrößen entwickelt. In der Herstellung werden nun die Bass Drum Kessel zerteilt und mit dem Zoomsystem ausgestattet. Im Ergebnis kann die ZoomBassDrum ganz auf die individuellen Vorlieben eingestellt werden. Die ZoomBassDrum bietet jede Menge Möglichkeiten mit Klängen sowie Mikrofonpositionen zu experimentieren und eigene Vorstellungen akustisch umzusetzen.

Rockstroh Drums Develops New Bass Drum System
On time for the Musikmesse Frankfurt 2011 the young, innovative custom drum manufacturer from Leipzig, Rockstroh Drums, presents a novel bass drum system.
Standard bass drums to date offer no flexible way to change their sound. Up until now, to be able to shape sounds, the tension of the head and/or resonance head has had to be changed. To do this, up to twenty independent screws have to be adjusted and tuned to one another, which translates to a very large time investment. Furthermore, before now there has been no flexible method to access the interior of the drum shell, e.g., to position a microphone.
The development of the Zoom Bass Drum System presents a variably extendible bass drum, which will eliminate sound rigidity, makes an easy-to-adjust sound production possible, and provides easy access to the shell interior.
Unlike the usual bass drum models, the Zoom Bass Drum is comprised of two shell halves that can be telescoped together or apart using the Zoom System. The user only needs a regular tuning key in order to adjust the bass drum sound for the current hot music styles according to his or her own individual preference. The Zoom System was developed by Rockstroh Drums for all current bass drum sizes and is available in chrome, black nickel, and gold finishes. Of course, true to the Rockstroh Drums philosophy, as a custom company, we can also build the drum specifically according to the individual color wishes of the customer. Furthermore, the mechanics of the Zoom System are manufactured with a special anti-friction coating that guarantees a very easy and almost frictionless use.
The creation of the Zoom Bass Drum System results in completely new possibilities to easily and flexibly change the drum sound, to experiment with microphone positioning, and to acoustically translate your ideas.
